Does my horse need a massage?
The short answer is yes. Any being with muscles, tendons, ligaments or joints can benefit from massage. Even if your horse isn’t sore or suffering an injury. Massage increases circulation, improves flexibility, and promotes relaxation. Horses that receive regular massages and body treatments are happier and healthier.
My horse isn’t sore, Does he still need a massage?
Ultimately it is up to you but yes. All horses benefit from having a massage. Even without injury, massage improved mood and performance for every horse.
How often should my horse get a massage?
The frequency of a bodywork program can depend on a variety of factors, including the horses age, riding discipline, work load and overall health. Most horses benefit from bodywork every 4-8 weeks.
My horse is injured, can he still have a massage?
Depending on the injury. I will always advise that you see a veterinarian for any injuries on your horse. Massage Therapy can be used as a treatment or complementary addition treatment to veterinary services.
My horse is aged and no longer ridden, would he benefit from a massage?
Yes! A retired horse that has done its time can have great benefits from a massage. Massage isn’t just used to treat injury and soreness, or improve performance. It is also a wonderful way for horses to relax. An aged horse might just deserve a little relaxation!
I can’t afford a monthly massage for my horse, would reduced frequency still be beneficial?
Yes! Whilst regular body treatments are ideal, it’s not always practical or affordable for everyone. Even a massage a few times a year can have great benefits for any horse, particularly during times of stress.
